Our Clay Shooting Group meets at the Clay Shooting Ground at Nuthampstead nr Barkway (further directions below) with about 4 or 5 weeks between each shoot.

Nuthampstead is a Hertfordshire League Ground with adequate facilities and the event is jointly organised by Frank Martin and Peter Godfrey. The use of shotguns and cartridges is included in the price. Refreshments are provided at cost.

These sessions are for Royston U3A members only

There is a limit on numbers and, currently, there is a waiting list. It is essential, therefore, that you contact the Group Organiser in advance if you would like to take part. A health and safety training session forms a compulsory introduction for new members.

Please contact Frank Martin of those shooters who are qualified to carry on to shoot on their own. If you have a licence but no gun Peter may probably loan you a gun to shoot at the Ground. So if you intend to continue bring your Licences and U3A membership cards with you to the next meet

Directions to the Clay Shooting Ground

Reach the fork in the road at Nuthampstead. The right fork is signposted to the Woodman Pub - DO NOT TAKE THIS ROAD. Take the left fork, follow the road round and take the next left, which will lead you to the shooting ground, signposted on the right. Follow the track to the car park.

The Conservative Club for the pre-shoot health & safety course lasts for one hour in the Derek Walker

Room. The Conservative Club is situated in Kneesworth St, Royston near to 'The Stone' junction. Walk down the right hand side of the street and the entrance is on the left, nearly opposite the Saffron Insurance Shop.
