Interest Groups

Getting Involved                                                                                                                                                   Our Interest Groups are self-led and managed.  They are intended to be enjoyable, sociable and educational. There are normally no paid tutors! This is only possible if members are willing to play an active part in ensuring that interest group meetings work effectively and this can involve anything from helping with refreshments to leading a group yourself. The Committee is always happy to encourage and assist members in starting up new interest groups.

Taking part in a group involves accepting how that group works and any other conditions agreed by the Committee. Beyond that, groups run themselves with the aim of keeping everyone happily on board.

Membership
In principle, all members are entitled to membership of all groups. However, for practical reasons, some group sizes must be limited, e.g. to take into account the amount of available equipment or space in a meeting room. Further detail is provided as necessary in the information about individual groups.
